Christmas 2009

This Christmas we stayed at our apartment then went to Idaho that afternoon. Cambria came into our room around 7:30 and brought Audrey. She said mom, dad come quick santa came! He didn't bring me anything I asked for but brought a great surprise!! She is too funny!!
Tim likes to get something for each of us just from him so he got Cambria a cute new hat and Audrey a Strawberry Shortcake doll.
The girls got to open their Christmas jammies the night before and were sooo cute. We also went out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse Christmas Eve with Aunt Mary and Lori and then went to Aunt Mary's for dessert and to exchange gifts.
Cambria was shocked and surprised that Santa left her a thank you note on her magna doodle! This year Santa got a glass of water, a protein bar and a clementine! She decided Santa was getting too fat with all the cookies so she left something healthier!
From Santa Cambria got a Polly Pocket Mega Mall with lots of tiny pieces!!
Audrey got a set of colorful blocks, but was loving checking out Cambria's Polly mall.
I got Tim some oil calone and some clothes some worked out and the rest we took back.

While Cambria was taking a bath I let Audrey have at the Polly mall and she had a great time!

It was a great Christmas we had a great time. Later we went to my mom's and had a turkey dinner, we set up tables down stairs so that we would all fit. Then we opened presents from each other and played around. The next day Kristin and family came and we exchanged a few other gifts and played some games and our white elephant gift exchange. The weekend was fun and we were even able to play couples games now that Meagan is married. Meg took our kids back to her house on Monday and we went to celebrate our 8th anniversary. We went to lunch at The Garden in the Joseph Smith Building, returned some gifts then went to see a movie Sherlock Holmes. Tuesday we did more errands and shopping and then decided that since Meg didn't have to teach school we would leave our girls one more night! Wednesday I went to pick them up and it took me an hour and a half to drive to Clearfield because of weather. It was great to have a few days to ourselves and it was also great to have our girls back!

Gingerbread House

I got a really cool Gingerbread House at Costco and so we attempted to make one this year. We should have maybe followed the instructions more closely. It said for best results to put the house together and then let dry for 3 hours. We just went for it and did it all at once!

Audrey sat in her high chair for a long time but then wanted to be involved and eat the candy!
Are we having fun yet?
After we were finished (which i ended up finishing it) it didn't look too bad from afar!!

Ward Christmas Party

Our ward had a fun Christmas Brunch this year. I made a breakfast casserole, there was some singing from the primary and a few songs with everyone and then santa and then it was over. Here is Cambria telling santa what she wants. We didn't try Audrey cause she didn't like santa on the Polar Express train ride.

Cambria's 5th Birthday Party

We had a color party theme for Cambria so we got her an easel that has a marker board, chalk board and a role of paper. I drew a little surprise on the marker board side for her.
Audrey loved the cake!
Doug and Kristin, Ryan, Morgan and Brandon came as well as Meagan and Natalie.

So at first she was kind of like thanks for the gift but really wanted to check out the other presents. This was a better reaction from last years present. I am adding a picture because the face is worth a thousand words and this pictures says it all!
Classic!! What is this and why did I get it for my birthday? Let me just explain a little. I had a Cabbage Patch when I was her age and so I thought she would like one too. After a few weeks she kind of played with it. I also love Brandon's face in the background!!

I am learning new cooking things all the time! I saw this cake on line and thought I could do it. I could only put it in the fridge because of lack of room in the freezer and later found out it needs to go in the freezer so that it cuts crisp. It is supposed to be a painters pallet! Happy Birthday Cambria!

Polar Express Train Ride

Cambria has wanted to ride a train for a while so Tim found out about the Heber Valley Railroad and that they do a Polar Express Train ride. It worked out that we were able to go on Cambria's birthday! She loved it and had a great time. We had two elves for our train car and they came and asked the kids names so I told them it was Cambria's birthday and later our whole train car sang happy birthday to her! The elves brought us cookies and hot chocolate and asked the kids what they wanted for Christmas. Later we followed along as our story teller read aloud the Polar Express book. Mrs Santa made her way through all the train cars and we soon approached the North Pole where we looked out and saw santa. This whole time we were going backwards and at the North Pole the engine switched to the front and santa got on the train with us. He came and met all the kids and gave them a special Christmas bell that they could only hear as long as they believed! On our way back to the train station we sang Christmas carols and had a great time over all!

Waiting for the train to start.

My mom and dad came as well as Meagan and Ryan.

Audrey wasn't to sure about Santa.

Cambria thought it was great but was expecting the train to go a little faster! She didn't know it was the Heper Creeper!!

Temple Square Christmas lights

Sunday evening we took the girls down town to check out the lights. We had lots of ooh and aahs from both. It was a very pretty night! Lots of other people had the same idea!
