Hogle Zoo 2010

Tim was gone away on a business trip to Atlanta Georgia so I took the girls to the Hogle Zoo with Natalie, Meagan and Ryan. We've been to the zoo a few times but discovered a whole unexplored area that we had never gone before. It is called the discovery land which I have seen before but never went to check out. It was way fun, and the girls had a great time!!
Yea for spare tires. I had to drive it like this to the airport later that evening to pick up Tim.
Also I forgot the night before me and the girls stayed the night with Natalie and then she watched them while Meagan and I participated in the Salt Lake City 5k (we forgot to take pictures, maybe we'll take some after thought ones anyway!) Then later after we had gotten some rest we went to the zoo and then to Wendy's for dinner. It was a fun day and I enjoyed being with family!

Super Funny Stuff!!
So last week me and the girls went to Idaho for the week and Tim stayed in Utah. Last Friday night he was working out at home in his wife beater tank top, shorts, glasses and had his hair slicked back with conditioner. He accidentally dropped some of the weights. He was then getting all the stuff ready that I asked him to bring home like our Christmas tree in a large red bag and Cambria's size 5 clothes. He took down the red tree bag to our car and when going back upstairs our downstairs neighbor asked if everything was alright. We have lived in our apartment for 2 1/2 years and have had the same downstairs neighbors and have not once said one word to them, so Tim thought he was talking to someone in his own apartment and went on upstairs. About 15 minutes later he heard a knock on the door, not sure if he wanted to answer it or not (we never have visitors or anyone come to our door that we don't already know who it will be) he went to the door and opened it. There stood four police officers at our front door. They told Tim they had a call about some suspicious behavior and a strong chemical smell emanating from the apartment. They asked him if everything was alright, and if he lived alone. He said things were fine and he lived with his family, wife and two daughters. They took down his information then asked if they could see inside his trunk. He put on some shoes and took them to our car and opened the trunk. They asked him to open the red bag. He did and showed them our Christmas tree. They said sorry to bother him and went to our neighbors to talk to them. While outside Tim saw three cop cars, to regular and one a canine unit. He called and related me the whole story after they left and I about died laughing just because we were safe at my mom's house. I am thankful that we do have concerned neighbors. I probably should go down and introduce myself and explain where we were and that I had just cleaned all my furniture and Tim is a wonderful husband and father who would never kill us off and stick us in a Christmas tree bag to dispose of us.

Swimming lesson
Cambria went to two sessions of swimming lessons and really improved and did so well with learning the swimming strokes, breathing out her nose, and side breathing! She had a fun time and it was great to be able to swim during the winter in a warm indoor pool!! Now we just need to wait for the weather to warm up to go to our apartment pool!!

Up to date
Here is a little update on things that are happening in our lives. We are still looking for a house. Tim took over for a few months and went out on his own with our agent. We also went last Thursday and looked at 4, non that were "the one". Our lease ends this month so we will be signing either a 5 month (if they will let us) or a 6 month, which will put us at the end of September.
Tim has been job searching for a while and has had a few interviews. A hopefully promising job could be with Goldman Sachs. One day he had his first interview which turned out to be three (while me and the girls were waiting in the car in the parking lot for 2 hours)(excuse for missing work... doctor appointments, why so long? traffic, pharmacy). Then a week and a half later he was scheduled for four (excuse for missing work... sick - felt better that afternoon). Yesterday he had his last interview on the phone (excuse for missing work... he took it during his lunch hour). All have gone really well he thinks, now we just have to wait and see what happens!
Cambria got accepted into a charter school for kindergarten and Tim couldn't be more excited. He is the one who took care of it all, I was OK with a traditional public school. We signed her up and she now has a spot but we will see if we end up finding a house in that area.
I took my girls to the apartment playground last week and it was great! It was fun to hear their laughter and see their bright smiling faces at being outside! Cambria made a friend right a way and played with him for a little while. They were making dirt piles and I overheard some of their conversation. She was telling him that Jesus and Heavenly Father made the earth and everything on it, but on Sunday they took a break! Audrey smiled and said hi to everyone she saw and of course they smiled and said hi back. We truly should be like little children!!! (and what great children I am lucky to have!!!)

Best Husband Ever
So I need to pay tribute to my wonderful husband!! Everyday he is amazing but there are some days when he surprises me with extras! Saturday I found out about my missing vertebrae and the Chiropractor told me to take it easy for the weekend and not make the bed or vacuum or other various activities in the home. Tim stepped up and took over and was wonderful. He made dinner and cleaned up on Sunday and vacuumed and cleaned and did laundry on Monday. (which a side story, he kept telling me that he had to work Monday so he woke me up to take him to work so I could have the car to go to the chiro again and when I went out to the kitchen the girls were sitting down to waffles and omelets and a plate was waiting for me. Then he told me he didn't have to work, surprise!!) Then today I had to go to traffic school at 5:45 so I picked him up from work and he drove us down town for my class. He and the girls had to wait for me so he took them to yuckdonalds (only their second time there and hopefully last) and then drove around down town Salt Lake until 7:00. What a wonderful man!! I feel so blessed and lucky so I had to put this out there!
Interesting Things
So for those of you who know me well, you know that I have had back pain on and off for a long time. Last summer I had to go to the Chiropractor just a few weeks before my half marathon to get quickly put back together again. Well last Saturday I had to go again because it was hurting so bad. I found a Chiropractor close and went. I have never had an xray done except for my broken arm and he suggested we take a couple just to see what was going on. Well I am missing my 5th vertebrae. Crazy stuff I know. He told me about 3-4% of people are missing one and other have 6. Mine started to develop but never completed. I do have a nice curve of my spine though! So the 5th vertebrae is supposed to carry 55% of your weight and is a key component in exercise and lifting! Since I don't have one my #4 is picking up the slack hence all of my back pain and problems. What am I to do you ask? Well I need to heal my current pain and then learn how to correctly strengthen my lower back muscles so that I can prevent future back pain. Great things you can learn when you are almost 29 about your body! here are pictures of my xrays the best I could get them.
If you start at the top square it goes 11, 12, 1,2,3,and ends at 4.
This xray was like a crooked pictures that you want to straiten! Everything is shifted to the right.

A Great New Year
There must be something about the word NEW that is just exciting. A new year is here and I'm excited! Yesterday I decided to reorganize my life. I'm going to get my pictures organized and labeled as well as on the computer, make DVDs of videos I've taken of our family and a few other things. I feel re energized and pumped to get things done and see it happen! I have restarted Cambria's job chart and a few discipline ideas! If she wants to do things like watch cartoons she can watch 3 if she gets dressed, puts away her clothes and brushes her teeth, so far today she has gotten dressed and put her clothes away and has yet to brush her teeth but she has also forgotten that she wanted to watch cartoons! This is working out great!!! Tim and I are doing a two week eating program to help get rid of the 4-5 pounds we gained during the holidays and to put us back on track for our weight loss goals!
I've decided that my blog is going to be my journal or photo journal so I've found out how to print it into a book, now I just need to back blog on a few months and print it out by the end of January. I'm way excited to see how it turns out and see what I want to change on my blog for 2010. Well this is the new me for the new year, getting a few things in my life organized and doing things that make me and my family happy! Happy New Year
