House pictures!

Front of the house. Audrey always seems to be with me when I'm taking pictures!! This orange flower and the yellow rose bush were fun surprises to have come with the house! Now I want to add to them next year!

The deck which was done in trexx so no maintenance!! We were going to put in a fence to separate our yard from our neighbor but instead might do a landscape fence with trees and bushes and give us shade from the west sun.

They used to have a tramp and play gym in the sand but Tim is working on making it a seating area and a small spot for me to garden and our little sand box!

The back of the house. I love it cause I can see the girls from the kitchen or my bedroom! We need to add a five foot gate on the right of the house to keep Audrey locked in! Also maybe some color! It looks pretty boring in this picture. Maybe some colorful plants!

The Joys of Home Ownership!

We ended our contract at Santa Fe Apartments in Cottonwood Heights and bought a home in Draper! We just moved on Saturday April 30th. So here are some funny stories from the last few days with our new home. On Friday me and Audrey came to the house and moved a few things over, while I was out in the garage bringing things in she had locked the garage door to the house with the bolt lock. I had my hands full of stuff and was trying to get her to understand that I wanted her to get the door unlocked, eventually she did!
After a few reservations trying to get the biggest truck and the right time frame with u-haul we went to pick up the truck on Saturday at 3:00. There was a slow line and a longer line forming behind us. Once we finally got to the front I told them we had a reservation under my name and they pulled up Tim's name with a large truck rental. We were so worried because my reservation was for a 17' truck and we didn't know how we would get it all done and get checked out of our apartment by 5:00. So the 24' truck (which we thought was canceled) worked out perfectly and we had great help to get it all done by 4:55pm!!! On the way to our new place, Tim, Cambria, and Morgan saw Kristin pulled over by 3 cop cars. We later found out they pulled her over thinking she was in a stolen car!
Sunday we didn't make it to our new ward because one we didn't know where everything was yet, two Tim, Cambria, and Audrey were all sick with a cold. Tim and I did get a lot of things done so that we could function for the week though. As we were getting things put away and cleaned, we found that the kitchen light doesn't work, there is a Easter bucket under the kitchen sink catching a leak, and that our drier cord doesn't work in the outlet! So far we have not gotten the kitchen light to work, the leak in the kitchen sink is fixed with a new faucet, and the drier cord has been replaced! Now we are working on getting the drier vent hooked up and cleaned in the attic, the dandelions killed in the yard and the water on in the yard. Tim just finished painting our "harry potter" room white from purple and I'm going to use it for my extra food and blankets and games. My design room as a long way to go, I need to buy a shelving system from Ikea and then I will have a place to put things! Tim is also working on getting ride of some unwanted guests. He put some mouse traps in our garage and he is working on getting ride of some wasps on our patio. So far we are loving the space of our new home!!

Easter was fun this year. We stayed home at our apartment and the girls woke up to a new movies and book and some candy. I also prepared a nice Easter dinner for us. All in all it was a nice and relaxing day to spend together!

Thumb houses

So I have been working hard on trying to get Audrey to quit sucking her thumb. I started in January this year and worked on only letting her have her blanket during nap time and bed time then I cut it to only bed time. I was worried that nap times were over (they are not!). There was a few days that I had convinced myself that I had won and she was done sucking her thumb. Nope, we are still working on it. Here I have made my own thumb guards. She called them houses for her thumbs. I got small Popsicles sticks with medical tape and wrapped it around her thumbs and wrists. It didn't work and she could get it all off. On to the next thing!

Discovery Gateway

I took the girls to Discovery Gateway with my friend Brooke and her two kids. We spend all afternoon and the kids had a blast! Audrey is taking a spin on a little car.
There was a cute house where she checked out all the drawers, put food in the fridge and served me while I sat at the table!

Cambria and Camron played us a little song!
One of the most fun things was the grocery store where you could take a cart and fill it up with play food. Cambria is playing cashier while Audrey hands her her items!

They had a farm where there were play chickens and garden foods. The girls got to get on the horse for a picture!
Here is a picture of Cambria, Camron, and Brin.

Outside there was a helicopter that the kids could climb in and check out and pretend to fly!

All in all it was a very fun day and the girls had a great time and we were glad we could go with some friends! Later that night we met with Tim and Neal and Launi and kids to eat out down town in Salt Lake!
