Abraham Lincoln Book Report

 For February's book report Cambria had to choose a president.  She chose Abraham Lincoln and for the project she needed to include pictures.  Were we ever lucky that Scheel's has a couple of Lincoln statues!  We took a trip and got a few great pictures to add to the report!

Beck and Cambria

 I believe in starting them while they are young!  He really likes it though and I almost can't vacuum without him trying to pull it away from me!  My vacuum can adjust to his size so it's perfect! Feb 8

After school Audrey was in Cambria's room which is forbidden and off limits, which of course makes it that much more appealing to go in!  While in there she was trying to get one of Cambria's lego houses down and broke it in the process. Cambria's melt downs are quite exhausting so I spent the rest of the afternoon before she got home from school rebuilding it! This is Audrey's I'm so sorry Cambria face! She really did feel bad.  Bad enough not to go in her room anymore and play with stuff.... no! Feb 6

Headboard project

 I can't say enough of how much I love Pintrest and all the ideas and tutorials I find!!  I have wanted a headboard for over 12 years and found the perfect tutorial to make one myself!  I am glad I didn't have one when we first got married because we started out with a queen bed and now have a king!  The tutorial had me use peg board so the hole were already there (smart!!)  I found some awesome fabric and got all the rest of the materials. The above picture is the 1st covered button out of 67 buttons!

 I knew I didn't want a seam down the middle and thought I might have enough fabric, but ended up running short on both ends. 

 Tim was a great help in all of this by the way!  He helped with all 67 buttons stapling them to the back (some a few extra times).  I went and bought more fabric for the sides and wasn't sure how I was going to sew it on and i for sure wasn't going to hand sew it.  My friend suggested taking of a few rows of buttons and Tim had the genius idea to put the sewing machine on a scooter and rolling it down!  Worked fabulously!  He was super curious how sewing  machines worked so he is watching videos about the whole process very educational!

We hung it up on our wall with (4) D wall hangers. I love the end product and am so proud of us for making something so awesome and so much less expensive than getting something from the store!

New Years Bowling

 We took the kids bowling on New Years day and had a blast with them!  They had great bumpers for the girls and they had a great time!  We will have to do it again soon, it has been years since we had last gone!

Temple Square

I sure do love my Eternal Family!!

 We had a great time as a family checking out Temple Square at Christmas time!  We didn't go last year because Beck was too little.

                          I need to figure out how to take pictures in the dark with lights!

Christmas 2013!!!

 I made each of the kids a pillow case with their name on it and the girls matching pillows or their dolls and I bought an apron and put their intials on it! I had a great time finding fabric and making these personal things for them! Santa brought Cambria her coveted Lego cruise ship!
